Material and methods: To estimate the risk of adverse events following rotavirus vaccination among infants, we carried out a two-year retrospective study assessing 7,691,757 doses of oral vaccine distributed in 2008 and 2009. Results: The estimated risk of an adverse event after the application of the oral vaccine against rotavirus was 2.9 events per a million doses distributed. Conclusion: Adverse events after rotavirus vaccination were uncommon.
