Resumen

Objective: To determine the psychometric properties of the nonmotor symptoms questionnaire (NMSQuest), the nonmotor symptoms scale (NMSSS) and the SCOPA-AUT clinimetric instruments to assess non motor dysfunction in a sample of Mexican PD patients. Material and methods: After linguistic validation, the instruments were administered to 100 consecutive Parkinson.s disease patients to analyze its psychometric properties among out patients attending the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Results: Internal consistency by Cronbach’s alpha was above 0.80 for all instruments. Inter-item and item-total correlations were above 0.30 in most domains and inter-observer variability was acceptable. Total scores did not showed high correlations with any of the clinical variables under study. Conclusion: The psychometric properties of the three instruments were acceptable and similar to data published in the literature.
