In 2005, the World Health Organization (WHO) report on the prevention of chronic diseases was presented. The facts don’t lie: in 2005, 35 million people worldwide died of chronic diseases. 80% of these deaths occurred in low- and middle income countries, where they effect persons at younger ages than in high income countries.
