Arica City has always marked in one way or another, prominently, in 1992 allowed us to generate the Ist PanAmerican Medical Technologists Journey and with it the creation of the Pan American Association, and in 2008, along with the closing of the XIVth Chilean Congress, prompted us to convene the Vth Conference of Professionals in the area. The Vth Pan-American Journey had an arduous work of configuration that today totally is fulfilled: one began with the creation of a data base that did not exist, of organizations of countries of the region, and their representatives; then, the establishment of its physical address and electronic; the elaboration of a letter Gantt in which the time was distributed to send the specific information on the accomplishment of the same event, which they culminated with the delivery of the Document of Work on Professional Identity. This remembrance does nothing but establish the origin of what we will be participating in a few days or longer leaving the memory of everyone present: the joint work of specialists f rom all fields of Medical Technology, Clinical Biochemistry, Biotechnology or whatever the name that each country has its professionals dedicated to the field of laboratory, imaging, sensory exploration of sound and visual senses or the ineffable world of microscopy. Everyone, everyone more or less, contributing to the health of the inhabitants of the Americas and there is no doubt that we are indispensable when tuning support or allow the medical diagnosis. We hope to contribute or have contributed to the exchange of experiences, knowledge and healthy and altruistic professional and personal relationships, bringing us even more in the spectrum of coincidences to ignore controversial aspects can be profiled in a particular career focus or the fine boundaries between what belongs to one or the other, always remembering that our ultimate goal is the patient who suffers the anguish of not knowing what has and if known, how and how our tests can help his ailing back health. When you return home we can only say that thank you for your valuable participation and that f rom now we hope to share in the following days, be they where they are, because America is one and who will always be present, so we are. On the other hand, as much XVth the Chilean Congress as IInd Conference Primary Health Care, will allow or has allowed us, to put us to the day in diverse as much scientist-technical aspects as applied of governmental and regional policies to the health sector. Without exaggeration, it is a big step in the process of the desired development, the power to establish common guidelines that allow us to realize certain expectations about what health is really different instances of the population, including those that natural disasters play a role precedence when implementing emergency measures or contingency in a short period of time. We are living in times when the traffic of the imponderable and bustle of humanity are blended to give a true return to values and principles, which can be disrupted by the impetuosity of the new and old generations, circumstances or circundancias, but nevertheless should be kept intact and to provide what every health professional delivery: true vocation of service to his fellows. This is also part and parcel of the events called, so we must not lose sight of when we are in the full exercise of our welfare activity, educational, trade unions, research, management or extension to community. Ethics, Bioethics, Science and Technology, are revitalized against efforts to carry out this great event, whose only reward is the satisfaction of accomplishment, because “Knowledge is not shared... simply does not exist” and, paraphrasing the verses of an old song scout, that “not more than a bye, is but a brief goodbye, very soon (...) we will meet”... without doubt is nothing but a fellow... see you soon!.
