Resumen

Biomechanical aspects of the wrist and its influence on the prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome This transversal observational study was performed with the participation of dental professionals, in the region of Foz do Iguacu Parana state in Brazil. We studied the differences in grip strength, in neutral, flexion, extension, radial and ulnar deviation, supination and pronation. The results showed that compared with the neutral posture, there was significant difference between the positions radial, ulnar, flexion and extension. Supination and pronation was no significant difference with p > 0.05. Since the gender difference in strength between men and women was significant, p < 0.05. We conclude with this research that interferes with the biomechanics of the wrist grip strength, indicating that men and women have significantly different force levels p < 0.05.
