Report of a fatal case

Resumen

Listeria Monycitogenes is a food borne, facultative anaerobic pathogen which may present as an sporadic manner, is also common in outbreaks and may lead to acute gastroenteritis with important mortality rates. The presence of local infections such t as acute cholecystis in association with systemic, invasive disease is extremely rare, with only a few cases reported in the literature. This is a 78-year-old patient who presented with sepsis due to Listeria Monocytogenes and acute cholecystitis, with rapid progression of multi-organ failure and an early death.
