O ensino da Medicina do Trabalho

Resumen

Objective: This article showed how important are the visits to workplaces during occupational medicine classes to Medicine graduate students. Methods: Two hundred and sixteen student reports have been analyzed for this study. They visited small, medium, and big businesses comprising different productive processes, in the region of Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil. By analyzing the content of such reports, the observations have been classified into categories such as importance of occupational anamnesis, meaning of visits, significance of work in the work-and-health process, perception about work conditions and risks to health, importance of psychosocial and ergonomic risk factors and prevention measure, and use of personal protective equipment. Conclusions: The content of these visit reports, detached in the present text, showed the actual significance of these activities for the education of the future professionals.
