Completo

On May 10, 2002 BLACPMA was presented for the first time at the San Martin Events Center of Buenos Aires, Argentina on the occasion of the Latin American Phytochemistry Congress. Today, I want to share with you some memories on this new BLACPMA birthday. Firstly, we must mention Jorge Rodríguez Chanfreau (CIDEM, La Habana, Cuba), who originally accompanied me with the BLACPMA idea, as well as some other old friends who are still collaborating, Arnaldo Bandoni (Argentina), Francisco Moron (Cuba), Patrick Moyna (Uruguay) and Lionel Germossen Robineau (Guadalupe), all co-founders of BLACPMA. I would like to give thanks to other friends who were important in the life of BLACPMA, Patricia Arenas (Argentina), Gabino Garrido (Cuba), Elsa Anselmi (España). A special mention goes to Dr. José María Prieto (Inglaterra), the former Scientific Editor, who worked with us for almost five years. I feel very sad for his departure, because such an important friend will be hard to replace. I want to thank those who continue to support BLACPMA: Guillermo Padrón (Cuba), Aurelio San Martin (Chile), Claudio Laurido (Chile) and Alvaro Portilla, a friend at the Ministry of Agriculture of Colombia. Over time, others will make their contribution, making BLACPMA one of the most important journals in the field of medicinal plants. Finally, I want to give thanks to all the colleagues who are sending manuscripts. This will contribute to the growth and prestige of BLACPMA thus guaranteeing a successful future.
